Introduction

Matthew 7:7 — “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”

I grew up Catholic, surrounded by faith traditions but full of questions. My grandmother was very devout—she prayed every day and attended Mass regularly. My parents also believed in God, but in a more casual way.

Some people said it was a mortal sin not to attend church every Sunday, while others said it didn’t matter as long as I believed. I wasn’t sure what to believe anymore.

I just knew I wanted something real—not just rules.

Searching for What It Means to Be “Good”

As a child, I tried to follow all the “good girl” rules. Go to church. Say the prayers. Obey everything. But I still didn’t understand why.

I wanted to know the reason behind faith—not just what to do, but why we do it.

Without realizing it, I had already started seeking God in my own way.
